Welcome!

UAW Local 402 is a local branch of the United Automobile, Aerospace, & Agricultural Workers of America International Union.  We are an amalgamated labor organization (meaning we represent more than one unit). 

Our general membership meeting is held on the second Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at the union hall.  The Local 402 Retired Chapter meets the third Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. at the union hall as well.  Our Amalgamated Units meet at the union hall on the first Saturday of the month every three months.

Our first unit includes the production and maintenance workers at International Truck & Engine Corporation's local plants.  Our members fabricate and assemble medium-duty trucks.  We service International's assembly plant, paint facility, and the new cab & stamping facility here at the Springfield works.

Our second unit includes the workers at International's Truck Specialty Center (T.S.C.) located just south of the assembly plant.  This is the modification center for International Trucks where the finished product is customized according to each customer's needs.

Our third unit includes the workers in the food service unit at International Truck & Engine.  They are employed by Aramark, Incorporated.  They stock food and beverages, as well as service and repair the vending machines within the plants.

Our fourth unit includes the workers at AKZO-Nobel Coatings, Incorporated here in Springfield.  They supply the paint to International's Springfield works.

Local 402 has quite a well-developed network of standing committees who conduct many varied events throughout the year.  We are also active in community and civic affairs in our area and encourage our members to get involved.
